We’re fortunate to live in an area with world-class wilderness hiking opportunities quite close at hand. We hike pretty much year-round, trying to spend as much time as possible in the high country during the summer and staying in shape with low-country hikes during the cool rainy season.

In 2015, CFL plans to do a southbound through-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail (approximately 2,650 miles from Canada to Mexico) with his daughter. If that happens, I’ll stay home and be chief trail blogger and food-package-sender. I may meet him at trailheads along the way for a bit of section hiking.
